All products are supplied with fitting instructions
and can be easily fitted by a competent DIY'er. Here are examples
of typical installation procedures
FingerKeeper Protect
Check condition of door, ie hinges, its
vertical plumbness etc. If in poor condition please call us before
fitting.
As 95% of doors are two metres high FingerKeeper
is cut to 1.960 metres in length making cutting a very rare requirement
during fitting.
If you need to cut to size ensure the
FingerKeeper is not more than 20mm short of the door top or bottom,
unless fitting for toddlers only, ensure no more than 20mm from
the bottom.
Where foot plates or kickplates are encountered
always try to fit FingerKeeper device over them, except in extreme
cases where they are just too thick to get over and in these rare
situations the installer must bring the matter to the attention
of the customer, who must then decide to either remove, cut and
refit the kick plate or run the risk of an accident.

1. With
the door in the closed position, place the wooden marker block (supplied)
vertically against the frame. With a pencil held at the side of
the block on the frame side, slide the block from the top of the
door to the bottom, ensuring that the pencil moves in conjunction
with the block leaving a pencil mark guideline down the frame.

2. With
the door still in the closed position, place the wooden marker block
vertically against the door and repeat the same process of step
1, thereby leaving a pencil guideline on both the door and the frame

3. Now
wedge the door in the fully open position. (For metal doors
and kick-plates pre-drill with 2.5mm drill bit.)

4. Remove
one layer only of the double sided tape from each
side of the Fingerkeeper device.
.

5.
Line up the edge of the Fingerkeeper
parallel to the guideline/pencil line on the frame. Press
firmly to hold in position before finally securing with the screws
(provided) ensuring that there is a screw in every hole of
the device

6.
Repeat this procedure to attach the Fingerkeeper device
to the door itself.
